Cumming is experiencing amazing new growth and bears little resemblance to the small rural town it was a mere decade or so ago. The completion of GA400 turned Cumming into a booming commuter town for metropolitan Atlanta. The city holds the Cumming Country Fair & Festival every October. The Sawnee Mountain Preserve provides great walking trails and views of the city and beyond from the top of Sawnee Mountain. Cumming also has miles and miles of Lake Lanier frontage which is very popular with water enthusiasts who enjoy boating, fishing, water skiing, and jet skiing.
